Visit Amsterdam’s Red Light District
For an experience like no other, Amsterdam’s Red Light District has to be seen to be believed. There are many things about this area that are totally unique from any vacation destination. In Amsterdam, almost everything is legal, within reason, and whether you are looking to score big with a hot girl, or partake in an exotic smoking experience, this is the place to go.
Prostitution is legal in Amsterdam, and in the red light district the girls aren’t hiding out in some back alley, they are right up front and have their own window displays, enticing men, women, and even couples with their ‘wares.’ If this isn’t your style, then why not visit one of the ‘cafes,’ which serve much more than strong coffee. They have just about any kind of exotic marijuana, and hashish you can think of, and even supply to tools you need to smoke.
There are some things you should understand about this area though. No matter how much you may want to show your friends back home the good time you had, never take pictures of the ladies. Taking photographs here is not only frowned upon, but you could get into trouble with the local police. While you can order any kind of smoke you want, you can’t actually say it, and if you are interested in any menu item, just point to it when the waiter comes to take your order.
And if you aren’t into any of these, Amsterdam’s red light district still has much to offer. There are many different unique museums, as well as an abundance of night clubs and other attractions, but it is not a place to take the kids. You should visit with friends, or your spouse, and leave the kids at home.
